Randy Robertson

Like many of the sideman in The StarDusters, Randy began his musical career in a high school band at his native Belmont, N.C. playing tenor sax. After furthering his education at Gaston College, his love of music steered him to several small local bands with which he played for about two years. Work and responsibilities caused him to put his horn away until he joined the Gaston Symphonic Band in 1994. He became an original member of The StarDusters in 1999. Over the years Randy has worked in retailing, done home remodeling and was a custom cabinet maker. During the past 21 years he has been with Freightliner Corporation, a truck manufacturer. When The StarDusters was forming, Randy decided to give big band swing music a try and is glad he did and finds it very enjoyable. Randy lives in Belmont with his wife, Ruth, their daughter and two step-sons.
